DUTIES&RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.Managetechnicaldevelopmentaspectsofautomotivemanufacturingprojectsfromsimplehandassemblytolargehigh-volumecomplexautomation.

2.Providecoordinationsupporttoplanning,procuringanddevelopmentservicesfortoolingandequipmentuniquetoaproductsuchasdies,molds,assemblyequipment,fixturesandanyotherspecificequipmentnecessarytoproducetheproduct.

3.Coordinatethetechnicaleffortsofthetoolinggroupsandplantengineerstoassurethatfinancialandtechnicalassumptionsareachieved.

4.Coordinatewithprogrammanagementregardingthedivisionofresponsibilitiesonagivenprogram,leavingthegreaterleveloftechnicaldetailtotheMIE.

5.Proposethebasicmanufacturingprocess,physicallocationproductionrates,laborneeds,packagingmethodsandotherpertinentmanufacturinginformationrequiredtodeveloppricing.

6.Createandheadthe“ManufacturingProcessDevelopmentTeam”,includingengineeringdisciplinesrequiredasdefinedbythecomponentmakeupoftheproduct;plantandfacilitiesengineersandQualityandproductengineers.

7.ManagetheinterfacewithProductEngineeringandthePDTtoassessmanufacturingfeasibilityoftheproduct,identifyinganylimitationsoftheproposeddesign.DocumentallconcernsandreporttothePDT.

8.Developmonthlytoolingreportforthebusinessunitandprovideupdatesonamonthlybasistokeybusinessunitpersonnelincludingbutnotlimitedtoprogrammanagement.

9.Createprocessflowdiagrams-ConceptthemanufacturingprocessthroughthecoordinatedeffortsofthePDT,byidentifyingthebroaddetailsofthetotalprocesssuchasstamping,injectionmolding,insertmolding,stitching,assemblyandotherprocessesrequiredtomanufactureallofthecomponentsandthefinalproduct.

10.OwnandconductthePFMEA.Coordinatetheeffortsoftheappropriateplantandtoolengineers,asdefinedbytheproductcomponentmakeupandreceivingplant,toassesstherisksassociatedwitheachstepofthemanufacturingprocess.

11.CoordinateandoverseecomponentPFMEA-OverseethecompletionoftoolspecificPFMEAledbytheassociatedtoolengineer.

12.Overseethecomponenttooldesignreviewandbuildprocessledbythetoolengineers.Evaluatedanyandallchangesinrespecttotheaffectondownstreamprocesses,theaffectonthemanufacturingprocessasawholeandtheimpacttototalprogramdelivery.Modifythemanufacturingprocessdevelopplanaccordingly.

13.Coordinatewithplantengineeringorfacilitiesmanagementtocreatealayoutplanforthemanufacturingprocess,asitwillrunonthemanufacturingfloor.Createanupdatedfacilitydrawingbasedontheplan.

14.CoordinatewithMolexfacilitiesmanagementandthereceivingplant,theinstallationofnon-toolingcapitalequipmentsuchaspresses,cranesandotherancillaryequipmentnotspecifictoaproduct.

15.Coordinatewithprogrammanagementtoconstructdetailedplansofthevarioustasksrequiredforsuccessfultryoutexecution.Includingbutnotlimitedtomaterials,labor,specialequipment,packaginginformationandappropriatedocumentationandspecialinstructions.

16.Coordinateandorganizethetryoutanddebugteamtoperformtheevaluationoftheprocess,refinetheprocessandperformtheRunatRatewiththereceivingplantandthecustomer.

17.Defineinputtocontrolplansandqualificationplans.

18.Leadandactivelyparticipateincustomerrunatratesonsiteatthereceivingplants.

19.Understand,supportandcontributetocurrentMolexTotalQualityManagement(TQM),SixSigma,InternationalStandardsOrganization(ISO)andEnvironmental,and/orHealthandSafety(EH&S)ManagementSystemsbyfollowingstatedpoliciesandprocedures.Understandthewords,conceptsandapplytheMBMGuidingPrinciplestoachieveprofitableresults.
