PositionisforadatabaseapplicationDBA/InfrastructuredeveloperontheOTCDBteam.TheteamistaskedwithproducingbusinesscriticaltransactionaldatabasesystemsaswellaslargeDataWarehouses/DataMartstomeetscalability,stabilityandperformancerequirementsforTradeCaptureandLifecycleManagementapplicationswithinInstitutionalSales&Trading.

Workwillincludedesigning,enhancinganddevelopingdatabasesacrossdifferentdatabaseenvironments.Thejobwillinvolveconsideringallaspectsoftheprojectlifecycleandincludesproof-of-conceptevaluations,coding,designing,testing,implementing,deploying,andcontinuedsupportofprojectreleasesaswellason-callLevel2support.

MajorRoles&Responsibilities:

1.DatabaseInfrastructureEngineeringforstabilityandscalability,capacityplanning

2.ApplicationDBAfunctions:plan&executedatabaseschemachanges,bottlenecksanalysis,outageprevention/resolution,server/databaseperformanceimprovements,databasemaintenance,databaserecovery

3.Databasedevelopment(storedprocedures,ETL,tools)andqueries/storedproceduresreviewandoptimization

4.Enforcedatabasesecurity,standards&guidelines

SkillsRequired:

Havetheabilitytopropose/reviewinnovativesolutionsandimplementtheminproductiontoachievesignificantimprovements.

Beanexpertinperformanceoptimizationonserver,database,query,datastructuresanddataflowlevels,withadvanceddatabasearchitectureknowledgeandhandsonexpertiseinOLTPandDataWarehousedesign,Federateddatabasesystems.

ExcellentDatabaseAdministrationskillsincludingindepthknowledgeofnewandexistingfeaturestoprovideeffectivesolutionsforcriticalsystems.

RequiredKnowledge:

Atleast5years’experienceinDB2Linuxrelationaldatabasework,musthaveexceptionalhands-onapplicationDBAskills.

DB2Linuxversion9andabove(SQL,Temptables,planexplains,MQTs,MDCs,referentialintegrityconstraints,etc.)

ThecandidatemustbefamiliarErwinorsomesimilarmodelingtool

FamiliarwithscriptinglanguagesuchasPerlandUnix/K-Shell

Strongknowledgebaseofrelationaldatabaseperformanceandtuningsuchas:properuseofindices,databasestatistics/reorgs,de-normalizationconcepts

SkillsDesired:-Communicationsskillsareimportantasthecandidatewillneedtoworkwithotherinternal/externaldeveloperswhowillbeaccessingthedatabasesandhavechangerequests.-Knowledgeofotherrelationaldatabases,especiallysolidSybaseexpertiseisaplus-Versioningtoolssuchasperforce,etc..isanicetohave-Knowledgeofthetransactionaldatabaserequirementsofmultiplefinancialassetclasseswouldbeagreatbenefit
