Keyaccountabilities

?Thisisahands-onoperationalandengineeringrolethatinvolvesunderstandingandmanagingthehardwareandsoftwaresolutionsthatprovideEnterpriseStorage(SANandNAS)andBackupservicesforapplicationsacrosstheenterprise.

?24x7supportandmaintenanceoftheinfrastructure,participationin‘on-call’rotaandoutofhourswork.

?Developanddeliverserviceautomationateveryopportunitytoremovemanualtasks,assistwithintegration,improveoperationalflexibility,providesolutionagilityandgreaterawarenessonthestateofEnterpriseStorageandBackupservices.

?Storageandbackupcapacityplanningandutilisationreporting.

?Assistindefiningmetrics,monitoringandreportsfromanytoolsdeployedintheenvironments.

?AssistwithsettingstrategicdirectionforSAN,NASandBackupsolutionsinconjunctionwithfunctionlead.

?Documentationandmaintenanceofoperationalissuesandsolutions.

?ProvideinputintoengineeringcomponentsrequiredforEnterpriseStorageandBackupservices.

?Continuallyimprovetheserviceandunderlyingplatformbyidentifyinganddeliveringserviceimprovement/optimisation.

?ProducestandardsandimplementationprocessesfortheEnterpriseStorageandBackupplatform.

?Workcloselywiththeteamandotherinfrastructuregroupareasacrossgloballydistributedteams–serverplatforms,networksanddatabase.

?WorkcloselywiththePMOwhendeliveringcapabilityaspartofaprojectorprogramofwork,understandingprojectmethodologies,businessrequirementsandmanagingtimetomarket.

?Liaisonwithexternalsuppliersforsupportandsolutionimplementation.

?SANproductexperienceinXtremIO,Symmetrix,VPLEXandBrocade.

?BackupproductexperienceinNetbackup,DataDomainandECS.

?StorageandBackupmanagementtoolsetexperienceinVIPRSRM,SYMCLI,Unisphere,ConnectrixManagerandthevariousCLIinterfacesfortheaboveproducts.

?CloudstorageproductexperienceinAWSorAzure

?OperatingsystemexposuretoLinux(RHEL),WindowsServer,ESXandAIX.

?DatabaseexposuretoOracleRDBMs,MSSQLandSybase.

?Experienceorexposureinbuildingsolutionsforhighavailability,reliabilityandresilience(clustering,replication,clones,snapshots).

?GoodscriptingcapabilityinPythonorPerlwithanabilitytousetheselanguagesintheautomationofoperationalandengineeringactivities.

Desiredskillsandexperience

?Experienceinsoftwareengineering–writingcodewithhighlevelobjectorientatedlanguagessuchJava,Python,Ruby,Scala,Goetc,specificallycreatingapplicationsforinfrastructureoperationsandengineering.

?Workingwithagilesoftwaredevelopmentpractices–TestDrivenDevelopment,ContinuousIntegration/Delivery/Deployment,de-coupledcode,iterativeandincrementaldevelopment,codepipelines,versioncontrol.

?ExperienceworkingwithorcreatingRESTfulAPIs,andtheirassociatedgateways,forinfrastructureserviceabstractionandconsumption–definingstandards,methods,frameworksandworkingpractices.

?ExperiencewithJSONandXMLdata-interchangeformats,specificallyinrelationtothegeneration,captureandmanipulationofdatafromassetsininfrastructuredomains.

?Experiencewithdataanalytics-structured/unstructureddata,SQLandNoSQLdatastores,cachesandmemoryprocessing,OLTP/OLAP,ETL,streaming,ACID,BASEandtheirapplicationtoinfrastructureplatforms.

?Exposuretoenterprisedistributedsystemsandtheassociatedchallenges/approachesinengineeringandoperatingthesearchitectures.

?Experienceworkinginafinancialservicesorganisation.
